Animal Crossing New Leaf: The Island

To unlock the island you must have upgraded your house at least once. Once you have done this, wait a few days and Tortimer will appear and teach you how to go to the island. You will be able to travel there the next day for 1,000 bells. You can go to the island whenever you want. The island includes a shop (which uses medals as currency), access to fish and bugs which can be caught, and a whole assortment of minigames. It is always summer on the island.

First of all you obtain medals by completing minigames (or ‘tours’ in the japanese version) on the island. The amount of medals you earn depends on the difficultly and how well/quick you complete it;

There are over 60 different minigames to participate it, under 12 different categories - they can be done alone, with friends or random people. The 12 categories include;

If you want to know more about Club Tortimer, check out this video.

I didn’t include images since there are way too many but if you want to know what a particular one look like, drop me a message and we’ll show you one.

You can bring anything back to your town from the island by placing it in BOX which is connected to your town. Anything left in your pockets when you return back to your town or start a minigame will be lost.
